Our History
The Mashpee Congregational Church is almost at the end of its teenage years! Our fellowship was founded in 2007. It was the first church established by our denomination (the United Church of Christ) in over 50 years on Cape Cod. Our founding pastor? The Rev. Dr. James Scovil, a dynamic, energetic man, who set a great foundation for the energy and growth we are now experiencing.
Our Church Community
An “expert in the law” came to Jesus and basically asked, “After you dust it all away, what really matters?” Jesus answered by saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart… and your neighbor as (you love) yourself.” He then offered something absolutely radical. He said, “In this…” (in the act of loving God, neighbor and self) “ALL the law and the prophets are satisfied.”
